Megha on cloud 9
Bengal beauty Megha Ghose, who was last seen in a sensuous item song in ‘Luchakali’, is now on cloud 9. She is riding with ecstasy these days as her craze was sweeping the Odia film industry by storm. Megha is now working in her new movie ‘Mu Ashiq Mu Awara’ which will be her next big release in Odia. Apart from that, she has another three offers from Ollywood. The story seems good to Megha and if she accepts, then it will be a hatrick for her.
The gorgeous beauty first appeared in Rahat Kudusi’s ‘Love.com’ and then she continued to hypnotized audience and filmmakers by her beauty, sensuality and acting in ‘Sasura Ghara Jindabad’, ‘Most Wanted’, ‘Dosti’, ‘Chandini I Miss You’, and ‘Luchakali’. Megha who is now to be seen opposite Sunil Kumar in ‘Mu Ashiq Mu Awara’ has two three Bengali films to be released soon.
Now Pupinder is an autowala
Can anyone imagine how can a professional anchor, actor and producer turn to auto driving for livelihood! Yes, it can be possible but in reel life. Pupinder, the well known face in odia TV zone took a step ahead as he ventured into film production. After Subha Bibaha and Khatamitha, now he is ready with another movie titled ‘Jaggu Autowala’.
Comedy, emotion, family drama, and full of music, this new movie of Pupinder have a new and catchy story which will sure catch audience attention. A girl is disturbed as the astrologer warns her about the death of her lover if she marries him. The clever girl makes a plan and tries to fake her first marriage by marrying another man before marrying her lover ultimately. This plan has linked him to Jaggu Autowala. But as all plans not necessarily become fruitful, her fake love for Jaggu turns unpredictable. But does this fake marriage get successful or Jaggu Autowala dies as per astrologer prediction; this is what the film is about. All through the comedy, mischief and suspense, Jaggu Autowala will be pleasure ride, hopes Pupinder who is playing the lead role himself. And his fake wife in the movie is Calcutta beauty Pamela Mandal.
Under the banner of Kalloosthenic Entertainment, Jaggu Autowala is directed by James Anthony and music has been composed by Abhijit Majumdar. Bijay Mohanty, Tandra Ray, Manoj Misra, Suman, Gudu, Chandini, Miki are the actors can be seen in the movie. The story and screenplay of the movie is decorated by Prakash Baral. Jaggu Autowala has been planned for bilingual release both in Odia and Bengali. The dubbing of the movie is currently in progress and planned to be released soon.
Papu Pampam turned into hero in ‘Rangeela Toka’
hilarious TV shows in variety of TV channels has spoken a volume about his talent. And last year, audience has also witnessed his comedy in big screen with ‘Balunga Toka’. But, Papu Pampam is going one step ahead from comedian to hero as in his next movie ‘Rangeela Toka’ Papu himself is in the lead role. Hit album artist Debajani is also in the lead role opposite Papu.
Bollywood actor Partha Sarathi in ‘Nai Separi Kanaka Gori ‘
The name of actor Partha Sarathi may be obscure in Ollywood but he is well known name in Bollywood. ‘Cycle Kick’, ‘Toon Pur Ka Super Hero’ and ‘ You are my Jaan’ are some of the bollywood flicks of Partha Sarathi. Good news is the Odia actor is making his Odia debut opposite Rali Nanda in the upcoming movie ‘Nai Separi Kanaka Gori’.
Under the banner of Ananya Productions, Ajay Mohanty is producing Nai Separi Kanak Gori while Pankaj Pani is planned to direct this debut movie of Ananya Production. Its music is composed by Ajaya and Mahendra while Deba Prasad Das has written the script. Apart from Partha Sarathi and Rali Nanda, Debu Bose, Mihir Das, Jayee Ram Samal, Aparajitha, Chakradhar Jena, Preetiraj, Muna Khan will be seen in the movie. The shooting of ‘Nai Separi Kanak Gori’ has been started from April.

Sunil Kumar is back in action as ‘Mantu’ with his new movie ‘Mu Ashiq Mu Awara’. The gorgeous Bengal beauty Megha Ghosh has been paired opposite Sunil. The story revolves around Mantu who is the son of a police constable. He is a cool dude who wants to enjoy life to the fullest. However, his life takes turn as he falls in love with SP’s young sister Khusi. And rest frames the story of ‘Mu Ashiq Mu Awara’.
Under the banner of Brahma Bishnu Maheswar Films, Sukanta Sahoo has produced the film while Muralidhara is in charge of direction. Deepak Jena has penned dialogues and the melody maker Bikas Sukla has composed the music of ‘Mu Ashiq Mu Awara’.
Ticket to Ollywood: Abhishek – new actor in Odia cinema
The Odia movie industry has seen a progress in last few days. And this progress has opened scope for whole new generation of artists. Though producers still face trouble in casting actress for movies, there is a progressive flow of actors into entertainment industry today. This flow has fetched a new actor Abhisek Ratha into Ollywood.
Abhisek Ratha is not novice. He is a popular child actor who has started his career from Doordarshan’s tele film ‘Adina Jhada’. He has done many other tele films including Sadhu Meher’s ‘Jibana Ranga’ and ‘Panu Mishre’ and also anchored a TV show ‘Gulgulia Katha’ in ETV. Sarthak gears up for Rajja fight
Sarthak Production, the popular entertainment company of Odisha who has given some of the most popular movies to audience is ready to take on the Rajja fight this year. While there will be as usually some big names in this fight, Sarthak has signed its favourite Archita and Arindam in the lead. ‘Raja Jhia Sange Heigala Bhaba’ is the title of the movie which has been directed by Sudhanshu Sahoo. In the past, all the scripts of Sarthak are strong enough to drive crowds to theatres, so this time expectation is same. Initially the movie was planned with Anubhav, but for unknown reason Arindam was selected for the lead.
Sarthak movies are known breathtaking melodies. This time producer Sitaram Agrawall has brought in Premananda for the music of ‘Raja Jhia Sange Heigala Bhaba’ and lyrics is by Srikant Goutam. Mahasweta, Prudyamna Lenka, Satyaki Mishra will be seen in it in other roles. The shooting of the movie has been finished and scheduled to be released in Rajjo Sankranti.
Ex-minister Arabinda Dhali in an Ollywood flick
Filmmakers are always in search for an opportunity to make their movie exciting among audience. For this reason, they implement many things in movies. From these, special or guest appearance is often seen where not only cine personalities but popular people from other arena appears in a filmy flash. Few days ago we have seen India’s Hockey sensation Dilip Tirki in a special role in ‘Toro Moro Katha Heba Chup Chap’. And now it is reported that ex-minister Arabinda Dhali will be seen in an Ollywood flick very soon.
This flick is titled ‘Police Commissioner’ being made under Pragati Creative Banner. The shooting of the movie is half finished and has been done in beautiful and varied location of Nasik, Khanadala, Shirdi and Odisha. ‘Police Commissioner’s story and dialogue has been written by Susant Das. ‘We have cast Susant Singh Rajput, Sukanya Bose, Sumita Basu, Itishree, Sasmita, Ashok, Ashrumochan, Debu Bose, Satwaki Mishra, Nagara, and child artist Priyabrata’ in the different roles in this movie, director and music composer of ‘Police Commissioner’ Sri Rudra Narayan Mohanty have said.
After politics, we have to wait to see Sri Dhali’s magic on silver screen.
Indestructible love story of Deepan – ‘Amara Prema’
Love has a magnetic charm for everyone. Everybody wants to fall in love and taste how it feels at least once in life. For some, it is not easy and for some others it is as easy as touching your head. But the challenge is to get successful in love. There comes difficulties of lifetime in the path of love and there are many examples of true but unsuccessful love stories which are written in histories. Such a kind of epic love story is the love in which Deepan has fallen. He feels his love has the strength of bypass the ravages of time. He is ready to go to any extent to prove this strength of his love and feels his story will become immortal one day. Though it is not Deepan’s personal life we are talking about but his next movie ‘Amara Prema’.
Deepan is going to play the lead role in the movie while her love interest in the movie is Bengali actress Mousami. ‘Amara Prema’ is being made under the banner of DJ Entertainment and is produced by Dillip Bhatt. The movie is currently in its pre-production stage. ‘Amara Prema’s story is written by Dr. Rajani Ranjan who himself writing the screenplay and dialogues of the movie now. Prasant Padhi is currently in the process of composing the music of the film. The shooting will commence from first week of June after the scripting and music work is over. It will be made under the direction of ‘Aaeen Kanoon’s director S. Shankar. ‘Amara Prema’ will be his second movie in industry. Its other casts will be Nikita and Payal including Deepan and Mousami in the lead.
Banichitra Cine Award 2012 to be held on 9th June
Popular Odia cine magazine ‘Banichitra’ is going to celebrate its 44th annual day on 9th June 2012. On this day, in order to felicitate the gleaming talents of Odia film industry, it is going to conduct the popular Banichitra Cine Award for the year 2012, in which deserving artists and technicians from industry will be awarded in different categories. “The selections will be decided by juries”, Parikshita Jena, chief editor of Banichitra, has informed.
While congratulating and encouraging the cine talents is the primary goal of any award ceremony, the main goal of Banichitra Cine Awards is to promote the cultural heritage of the state and to recognize the contribution made by the talents to the film, culture and arts industry.
On this occasion of Banichitra, all the prominent artists, state level administrators, media people, and the elite group of the twin city will be present at the party. The event has been scheduled to start from 6.00 p.m. onwards at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar.
